Here are links to a variety of organizations who routinely need volunteers:

Volunteer – Forgotten Harvest

We fight hunger & food insecurity

We deliver 144,000 pounds of surplus food per day to local charities five days a week, providing families in need with fresh and nutritious food free of charge.

Meals on Wheels – Wayne

Hot freshly prepared home delivered meals are being served to homebound clients on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday. A frozen meal is delivered with the hot meal on Thursdays for consumption on Friday. Volunteers are needed to deliver meals in several communities.

Volunteer | Plymouth Miracle

The mission of the Miracle League of Plymouth is to enrich our community by providing education and social development through high quality recreation programs, including baseball, for individuals with special needs and their families.

Plymouth Community Foster Care Closet

The Plymouth Community Foster Closet provides FREE clothing, toys and other essentials to children in foster care.

Volunteer – RMHC Ann Arbor

We provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.

Plymouth Corps | Salvation Army Community Centers

Volunteer opportunities vary, but volunteers are needed throughout the year. When you join our team of volunteers, you’re helping us build communities where lives are changed and hope is found. Volunteers are one of our strongest resources in meeting the needs of a community.

Meal Train for VA Ann Arbor Fisher House Guests

The VA Ann Arbor Fisher House is a beautiful “home away from home” that provides high quality, temporary lodging to families and caregivers of Veterans and active duty Servicemembers who are undergoing an episode of care at the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System Medical Center.  The Meal Train provides a meal for up to 40 individuals.

Volunteer – Wayne Metro Community Action Agency

In our pursuit to eliminate poverty, Wayne Metro empowers people and communities to be strong, healthy, and thriving.  We are intended to promote self-sufficiency, and depend heavily on volunteer work, especially within the low-income community.

Volunteer – Friends of the Rouge

Volunteers make it possible to restore and protect your Rouge River right here in southeast Michigan. No special skill or experience is required. We offer both one day and long-term volunteer projects.

Volunteers – Habitat for Humanity

Volunteers make a difference by picking up a hammer and helping to change lives.  The energy and compassion they bring is invaluable. They often get as much or more from the experience than the families. The partnerships provide a spark for community improvement.

PBJ Outreach, Inc.

P.B.J. (Peanut Butter and Jelly) Outreach, Inc. is a non-profit organization focused on feeding and clothing the poor and marginalized living in the Detroit metropolitan area. The organization unites volunteers and equips them to obtain, prepare and distribute food and clothing while creating an awareness of our obligation to service others.
